Artishow Application Form

The Artishow Artist in Residence program is an extremely popular and exciting new venture for the Victoria Arts Council which includes partnerships with 5 high traffic hotel venues. Selected artists are provided an ‘Artist in Residence’ placement for a 3-4 week period at one of the high traffic hotels in the Greater Victoria Region (list below).

Artists will be provided both a gallery and working space for the duration of their residency with the expectation that they will be on site on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00am - 5:00pm, all other hours to be determined by the artist. Artists are welcome to sell their work and goods as well as use the hotel’s Debit and Credit Card system. In addition, each hotel provides different benefits for participating artists including promotion, staff meals, storage, etc. The Victoria Arts Council will do extensive promotion for this program with a stand alone website, printed posters and rack cards, Tourism Victoria partnership and an artist’s celebration.


!Correction: Cost for participation in the program is $75/MONTH and no commission is collected from either the Hotel or Arts Council!

Artist in Residence opportunities are limited. The Arts Advisory Committee will make every effort to accommodate as many artists as possible using a fair and open process.


Art must be appropriate for family-friendly, culturally diverse audiences.

The Artishow program is designed for individual artists who are prepared to work onsite and interact with the public.

This program is available for current arts council members only.

There may be multiple requests for the same time period at each venue.
